Divio started in Zurich, Switzerland in 2006 as a full-service digital agency focused on building custom web apps for enterprise clients. We were passionate about clean design, reliable performance, and modern development, especially in Python. Django quickly became our go-to framework.

That led us to create django CMS, an open-source CMS that grew into an award-winning enterprise tool, adopted by major companies worldwide such as NASA, National Geographic, L'Oreal, Prezi and Canonical. We contributed, maintained, and helped shape the Django community we still support today.

But as our agency scaled, we hit the same wall so many others do. Cloud hosting platforms were slow, clunky, hard to use, and not made for agencies. So we built something better. At first it was for ourselves, then for our clients. Eventually, that internal tool became the Divio Platform.

Headquartered in Stockholm and listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market, Divio combines Swiss build quality with Swedish product sensibility. Our global team works remotely across Europe and North America, with offices in Zurich and New York.
