An update on our response to the Spectre/Meltdown vulnerability.

Following disclosure of the Spectre/Meltdown vulnerability, we were obliged to restrict access to functionality on our platform as a security measure.

We're hoping that Ubuntu will release a patch by today (Tuesday 9th January 2018), that will allow us to restore full service safely.

However we also have a Plan B, in case an update is not available. We are currently testing another option. This also necessarily depends upon upstream updates, but will allow us to re-enable the functionality sooner than otherwise.

We appreciate the disruption that this has caused, and thank all our customers for their patience while the issue is on-going. Security remains our top priority, and we believe it's a value shared by our users.
