Last night DNSimple, a company that provides us with DNS services, suffered a lengthy Distributed Denial of Service attack, targetting their data centres in Tokyo, Amsterdam and the east and west coasts of the USA.

Though this attack was not aimed at us and did not affect our servers in any way, it rendered them inaccessible from outside our network.

Thousands of other companies and websites across the world were similarly affected.

We apologise to our customers for the disruption to service. Our infrastructure team are recovering from a long night of no sleep. We're studying the incident, and will be putting measures into place to mitigate the effect of future attacks.
